I don’t remember when i started writing poetry. I think it was when i was trying to write a song once and i couldn’t get any of the words to rhyme so i just turned it into a poem. I used to write a lot in my school notebooks but lost most of them. Anyway, this is one of them. Its a very short poem called Gray. Its about pessimism, being consumed by depression and failing to see the brighter side of things.

The colours in your painting
Fade away to somber gray
The sunset is now a deep dark river
The villagers are cold,
they shake and shiver
And the lovebirds have flown away
Is this your final picture?
A canvas with no life
Fear has left you no longer all-knowing
Drowning in streams no faster flowing
And just when the new day’s arrived.
