Everyone knows who the president of America is, or what the significance of Pi is in mathematics, or what quantum physics really is all about. That’s child’s play. But there are facts that we don’t know about the world that we live in- important albeit little known facts. Here are some of them, along with my commentaries on why these facts are crucial for everyone to know:

  • The electric chair was invented by a dentist: I have long held the theory that dentists are the scariest human beings on earth. This fact just goes to prove I am right.
  • Some Chinese people believe that swinging one’s arms relieves headaches: Now I have tried this and it actually works. Because when you swing your arms for really long, it starts to hurt so bad that you forget you ever had a headache.
  • Every time you sneeze some of your brain cells die: this could be the scientific reason as to why human beings are getting more stupid by the day.
  • Polar bears are known to be left handed: if you ever happen to be in the North Pole, and you come across a polar bear, this piece of information may come in handy.
  • It is anatomically impossible for humans to lick their elbow: I only included this one because I know that right after reading this, you will attempt to lick your elbow.
  • It is physically impossible for pigs to look up into the sky: pigs are funny.
  • Banging one’s head against the wall, can burn about 150 calories: it can also cause a concussion, although it would not cause such a difference to your brain’s functioning seeing as you were stupid enough to employ this method of weight loss in the first place.
  • There are more chickens than people in the world: moral of the story- stop eating dog meat and eat more chicken.
  • A pig in Japan says “moo-moo”: Japanese pigs are the funniest
  • The most common non-contagious disease in the world is tooth decay: Because everyone knows the electric chair was invented by a dentist.
